About Us

We’re a Reconciling in Christ congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We worship on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m.

All are welcome! We strive to be a place of radical hospitality and caring with a passion for justice and service.

Black Lives Matter

Worship

Our worship is Lutheran liturgy shaped by ancient practices as well as newer traditions, full of scripture, prayer, holy communion, song, and music.

We include persons of all ages in our worship time, and we address the issues of today honestly and with hope. Sunday School and Adult Forum also happen twice each month.

Our Approach featured

Ministries

At Messiah, our priorities include the following:

– Feeding ministries, partnering with three local organizations: Senior Support, Filling the Void, and the Greater Park Hill Food Bank

– Care for Creation and Environmental Stewardship.

– Social justice concerns: Connecting ourselves with migrant neighbors, challenging ourselves to work towards Racial Equity, and striving to be a safe, welcoming community for LGBTQIA+ persons.

– Youth ministry

Give to Messiah

Your gifts allow us to be Christ’s Church for the sake of the world.
We are dedicated to ministries of social justice that serve those in the greatest need.
We maintain a building we share with many organizations from the community that serve the community.
We work hard to make a difference right here where God has placed us and every gift you make helps us in this mission.
Thank you for giving!

Welcoming You, Wherever You are on the Journey of Faith

You may have driven by our building on Colorado Blvd many times…

It’s a wonderful space, but the church is not a building – not really. It is a community of people loved by God, called and sent to care for one another and for the world around them.

Multi-generational, we worship as newborns and nonagenarians. We sing together, pray together, explore the Word of God together, serve together, and live in the mystery of a God who is in, with and under all that is.
